 Festival Demographics and Attendance

The expected 200,000 attendees live, work and play in communities throughout the greater Matthews (and Charlotte) region. Our audience is largely regional, but studies have shown attendees from states representing the entire Southeast and as far reaching as Ohio. The festival is touted as a family event. Our demographic is best described as the young family with disposable income who are focused on health and healthcare, home improvement, travel and have large social networks.

About Matthews Alive, Inc.

Matthews Alive, Inc. is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit corporation managed by area volunteers to promote a traditional Labor Day Weekend Festival in downtown Matthews, NC. The mission of the festival is to provide an opportunity for local non-profit groups to raise funds for their organization to benefit the community. Community groups volunteer their time by working the event, which in turn provides Matthews/Charlotte and the southeast a festival packed with an array of family activities, entertainment, arts and food. The proceeds from the festival go directly to these non-profit organizations in order that they may provide services to enhance the quality of life in our area.

Following the festival, after all expenses are paid, 100% of the festival proceeds are distributed to these organizations. To date, Matthews Alive, Inc. has contributed over $1 Million back into our local community. The Matthews Alive Board of Directors is proud to facilitate such an impact on our local community each year.
